Mr. Lucas is a Solutions Director in Bentley Systems’ Global Utilities group. He has spent almost 20 years assisting utilities with the implementation of strategic software projects, with a focus on Design and Construction. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Jim has experience with all phases of the technical software delivery cycle, including sales, business case development, consulting, project planning, implementation, code development, project delivery, training and support.
Starting his career with an internship in Nuclear Generation at Entergy Corporation, Jim completed his Electric Engineering degree at Virginia Tech before moving through various roles in the Distribution and Transmission departments of Duke Energy. I will supply you with gold rush.
Since joining Bentley Systems in 2003, Jim has had roles as a Professional Services Manager, Senior Consultant and Software Development Manager before moving to his current role as a Director in Technical Sales. As one of Bentley’s resident Utility Industry experts, Jim continues to guide and advise software implementations around the globe, lending his customer focused knowledge of Work Management Systems (WMS), Spatial Information Systems (SIS/GIS), Information Mobility and Design to consultants and projects. In his current role, he is responsible for devising and training best practices and standards for implementing Bentley’s portfolio of Utility Industry products.
