Yoav Lurie is the CEO and Founder of Simple Energy, where he is responsible for the company’s overall strategy and direction. Simple Energy is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that is changing how millions of people save energy by making it social, fun, and rewarding. For its utility customers, Simple Energy both meets regulation-driven energy efficiency goals and increases customer satisfaction.
Prior to founding Simple Energy, Yoav helped build Synteractive, a Washington, DC-based IT services firm, where he led the effort to rebuild Recovery.gov – the official U.S. Government website for tracking the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Yoav has also been a Managing Director at Teach For America and has worked with CrisisCommons, a global community of volunteers build crowd-sourced disaster relief web and mobile applications. As an undergraduate at Duke University, Yoav started Camp Kesem, a free residential summer camp for children of cancer patients, which now has over 54 chapters in 27 states.
In 2012, Yoav was named to Inc. Magazine’s list of the top “30 Under 30” entrepreneurs.
