Daniel Witt is the Senior Manager of Business Development and US Policy for Tesla Motors. He joined Tesla following a four year stint in the United States Senate that included time as a Policy Aide with a broad legislative portfolio including Transportation issues and a variety of municipal and statewide infrastructure projects.
In his four years with Tesla Motors, Daniel has been tasked with addressing a myriad of domestic policy initiatives across the Federal, State and Local levels as well as several emerging business development projects within the commercial sector. He works primarily with state and local actors and industry partners on initiatives related to Tesla’s core equities: electric vehicles, charging infrastructure deployment, and stationary storage projects. He has led efforts in several states, including Texas, to further open the consumer marketplace by enabling the purchase of vehicles directly from the manufacturer. Additionally, he recently co-managed the site selection activities for the forthcoming Tesla Gigafactory – the largest planned battery manufacturing facility in the world.
